Roadmap
Features we are working on and planning to work on in the future.
In progress
Features we are working on right now, usually ready in the next 2-3 weeks.
Budget Alerts
An automatic check monitors your project budgets and notifies you directly in the planning view when planned hours reach or exceed the limit. This helps you prevent cost overruns.
Add Range Fill feature to Team View
Quickly fill in hours over a defined time frame. Range Fill is currently available in Project View only. We will be adding this feature to Team View as well.
Regional holiday calendars
If your team is spread across different locations, you can define public holidays by region. This ensures availability reflects local holidays and prevents work from being planned on non-working days.
Undo option in planning views
Reverse your last actions in the planning view.
Next planned
These are the features planned for the next few months; ordered by priority.
Advanced team filters
Filter team members by supervisor, role, and other attributes to quickly find the right people. Use the same filters for reporting to break down capacity and allocation by relevant groups.
Advanced project filters
Filter projects by key attributes to quickly narrow down your view. Apply the same filters in reporting to analyze capacity, workload and progress across specific project segments.
Project Manager indicator
Display the project manager’s initials in the project header so users can instantly see who is responsible for each project.
Show additional columns in Project View
Display additional attributes like Team or Department in the Project View.
FTE planning
You’ll be able to plan in FTE units (e.g. 0.2, 0.5) instead of just hours.
Completed
Those features are already completed and available in Caperity.
Possibility to add links to projects
Add links to project plans or project folders directly in the project details.
Support for project roles
Assign project roles to team members, such as Designer or Engineer. With this feature we are laying the foundation for role-based capacity planning and reporting.
Excel-style drag right
You’ll be able to quickly fill multiple cells at once using mouse-driven drag right action, similar to Excel. This significantly speeds up planning and improves overall user experience.
View Allocation by Role
We are building a new report that will show weekly and monthly allocation by project role. Roles can be set per person on project level.
List view customization
Enable users to control how many items are shown in the project and team member list.
New project status: Not started
A new project status to flag projects which have been confirmed but not started yet.
New budget-level field: hours already spent
A project-level field where hours already delivered in the past can be entered, so the budget tracker starts from the real remaining balance rather than from zero.
Enhance project budget report
Enhance report to show all projects with start & end date, budget total hours, total allocated, budget vs. allocated, assigned project .manager
Custom attributes in data export
Allow additional team member attributes to be included in the planning data export. This gives customers more flexibility and ensures the exported data can be clearly identified and used reliably for further processing.
Project filtering in Team View
Show or hide projects based on their status (Active, Completed, Potential).
Project view: filter results instead of highlighting
The current quick search in Project view only highlights matching projects while still showing the full list, which makes it harder to focus when working with many projects. Update the behavior so the list is filtered based on the search input, showing only matching projects and hiding all others.
Team view: filter results instead of highlighting
The current quick search in Team view only highlights matching team members while still showing the full list. Update the behavior so the list is filtered based on the search input, showing only matching team members and hiding all others.
Planning activity log
On a capacity spreadsheet, we can see who last updated the file. Caperity currently does not have a change history. This will now be implemented: A simple change history on project level so managers can see whether team members have updated their hours.
Overload indicator in Project View
When you adjust hours in Project View, Caperity will regularly perform automatic overload checks in the background. Team members with overload will be highlighted. This reduces the need to jump into Team View to check workload.
Project budgets
Set hour budgets for projects. Including alerting when the budget is about to be exceeded. We are currently collecting input from our users to decide how to best implement this.
API for project import
Import projects automatically from your ERP or integration platform via a simple API call.
Project Allocation Report
The Project Allocation Report shows how much of each person’s available capacity is planned for each project per week or month, shown as a percentage. It helps you see where people’s time goes, not just how busy they are overall. This makes it easier to spot overload, risky dependencies and people being spread across too many projects.
Availability export
Export availability and capacity data per team member and date. Together with scheduled hours (demand), this lets you run capacity vs. demand analyses outside of Caperity.
Collapsed project view
A view that only shows each project with its phases and milestones. It hides all other details, including people, so you can quickly scan all projects at once and easily spot where phases or milestones overlap—without having to scroll.
Project status tracking
An additional field for projects where the status can be tracked. Status options include: Active, Potential, Completed, Cancelled. We’re also enabling filtering in Project View, so that you can choose which projects will be shown.
Import of holidays
Quickly import holidays from Excel.
Weekly utilization report
This is for customers using the daily planning layout: We’ll soon have a utilization report ready that shows team member utilization by week.
Customizable thresholds in utilization report
The current utilization report uses fixed thresholds and preset colors. But every team defines “good utilization” differently—one company might call 80% “great,” while another uses a different target. With this update, you’ll be able to set your own utilization levels and choose corresponding colors. That means the report will then reflect your utilization targets, not a generic scale.
Import of hours
You’ll be able to import your existing hours into Caperity, instead of manually transferring your planning data.
Working hours with decimals
Soon you’ll be able to set working hours using decimals, like 7.5 hours per day.
Scheduling hours with decimals
We’re adding support for decimals in the planning views. You’ll be able to schedule hours like 3.5 or 0.5 instead of whole numbers only.
Daily availability inside weekly calendar
Caperity shows free hours — and days off — inside each weekly row, so you can quickly tell which days someone is away and which days they’re available.
Fill hours across a date range
Range Fill lets you set hours across multiple days or weeks in one step.
Select a range, enter the hours once, and Caperity fills the cells for you.
Export to Excel
Export your planning data to Excel. Caperity creates a readable file with the projects, people and planned hours.
Project Phases
You can break projects into phases and show them in the planning views.
Project Milestones
You can add milestones to your projects to mark key dates or deliverables.
They appear in the planning views, making it easy to see what’s coming up.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
You can enable two-factor authentication for an extra layer of security.
Leave Tracking
You can add vacation and other time off directly in Caperity. Leave shows up in the planning views, and resource availability is adjusted automatically.
Archiving Projects and Team Members
You can archive projects or team members you no longer need in your active planning.
Custom Attributes for Team Members
You can add your own attributes to team members, like role, team, or any other label you need.
Quick Search in Project and Team View
You can use quick search to jump straight to the project or person you’re looking for.
